Rachel Casavant Is A Wine Connoisseur

Rachel Casavant has a real love for wines. She says that wines are the most celebrated drinks and are the greatest delights. She likes to travel to various parts of California during her winery tours. Such tours are a great way to get an insight into how wines are made and bottled. She says that a few days trip to winery, or even an evening outing to wine tastings, will open up your wine repertoire in ways you won’t believe. The procedure of making and sipping wines is an art. Most of the people celebrate their special occasions using a bottle of finest wines. If you are also passionate about wines, the winery tours are an absolute must to help you discover and explore all aspects of wine-making, says Rachel.

Modern wine-making is a worthwhile and large industry. She suggests wine lovers to read good books. There are thousands of books about wine and some of the recent ones that she suggests worth reading are, “Great Wine Made Simple: Straight Talk from a Master Sommelier” by Andrea Robinson, and The Oxford Companion to Wine.  Rachel Casavant says that wine tasting requires that you linger over the wine and savor each sip. A clear wine glass with a rim is perfect glass for wine-tasting. The clear glass allows you to see the wine clearly and inner-facing rim allows you to experience the full bouquet of the wine, while preventing the wine from spilling when you twirl it around. You can also relate your love for wines with other interests as well such as your passion for cooking, traveling can also be achieved with your love for wine.

She says that when you are serving two wines at dinner, you could start with a white wine at beginning of dinner followed by a red wine during the main course. A milder, simple vino should always precede a heavier wine, adds Rachel Casavant. The perfect combinations include white wine to precede red wine, light wine served prior to a heavy wine, and dry wine is best served prior to sweet wine. She is passionate about learning new aspects of wine making.
